An article that we will update regularly with information on what functionality is currently available and how it works.

Discovering the map

Map discovery works by having the app on either in the foreground or in the background, and based on your location, we can detect where you are.

The app must have access to your location, it must have access to the internet (for now) and it must be turned on. The app can be in the foreground but also in the background.

Movement up to 30 KMH (18.6 mph) is free. Once you exceed that speed and want to continue to reveal you must have purchased a premium account.

Zoom

Zoom currently works up to level 14.5. If you zoom in more, you won’t see the revealed map anymore, but you will see hidden or uncovered question marks in your location + you will see all revealed question marks on the map.

Over time, we will optimize this functionality to allow you to see as much zoom as possible and see how you have uncovered the whole world.

Premium Account Features

• Unlimited speed when revealing the map
• Change avatar (only avatars for now, in time it will be possible to add your own photo)
• Change the map colour

Free features of MysteryHike

Revealing hidden question marks

• Simply approach a question mark and you’ll see it right away. If the question mark in your vicinity does not change, there is only a slight delay. If you restart the app, you will already see it revealed.
• The question marks may hide various things such as memorials, fountains, peaks, hills, churches, etc.
• In case there is no question mark in your location, please write it here in Google Form and we will check your location.

Place Rating, Mystery Book & Photo of the place

• You can rate each discovered location and write post to the MysteryBook.
• Adding a photo is not yet available. It will be in time.

Progress & Achievements

• Based on the points earned from discovering each location, adding a rating and writing a comment, you earn points by which you gain levels.
• We are preparing achvievement section, but in this section will be hidden special badges, special prizes and so on.

Daily Streak

• Take on the challenge of daily exploration! Simply walk 1 km or discover a new place each day to maintain your streak.

Hidden & Unhidden Question Marks

• On the main page you can hide question marks.
